As we bid farewell to 2023, it is with great pleasure that we reflect on a remarkable milestone – the 20th anniversary of the Forensic Network. On the 14th of December, we had the privilege of welcoming colleagues from across the forensic estate to join us in a day of celebration and knowledge sharing at a one-day conference. Attendees engaged in workshop discussions on key areas such as prison mental health, a new National Secure Adolescent Inpatient Service, and the development of a National Serious Offender Liaison Service (SOLs). One of the highlights of the day was a multidisciplinary panel discussion that focused on the future of forensic services in Scotland.
The achievements of the past 20 years would not be possible without the dedication of partners and contributors across services who have played a pivotal role in our success. As we look towards 2024, we are excited to continue with key pieces of work which will hopefully continue to shape and improve forensic mental health services and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
